At both our offices the partner in charge is a solicitor experienced in drawing up wills and assisting in the administration of estates.

We offer a fixed price service for standard wills with a discount for the second will if a pair of "mirror" wills is needed. We are happy to confirm fees in advance on request. The pitfalls that can be encountered when a person dies without a properly drawn will are many, as can be the mistakes that can be made inadvertently when attempting to draw up a home-made will, perhaps using a standard form. Certainty can be achieved - it should be simple, quick and relatively inexpensive to prepare your will professionally in the vast majority of cases.

For situations that are more complicated we can consider with you, the options for bequeathing your estate, the implications of more complicated family situations, the impact of Inheritance Tax and ways of minimising the eventual tax burden. Whilst we always advise the appointment of trusted family members or friends as Executors whenever appropriate, the partners in the firm are available to act as executors of wills when this is needed.

We are always willing to store original wills if you wish, in the vault of our Ventnor office (the old Lloyds Bank), without a storage charge.

When a family member or friend dies, the paperwork that needs to be dealt with can be a burden. For Executors appointed under a will, or intending Administrators if there is no will, we can supply a full probate service; assessing the extent of the estate, preparing forms and Inheritance Tax papers, obtaining the Grant, realising and distributing the funds, with full final estate accounts and taxation clearance.
